Empty days recently. No enthusiasm to fill them either. OK, that was a lie. If it were the truth I wouldn't go out and try to rid the boredom. One would think I'd make the most of these weeks but I guess not. Soon I'll be back at uni and it will take up my time, I'll be happy for the repetitive tasks but complain nonetheless.
Some mornings I sit in the kitchen for 20 minutes looking in the open cupboards. First I make a cup of instant coffee and then try to imagine what a good breakfast meal would be. Usually it turns out to be an egg with toast. I hate eating eggs, they are disgusting things. Yet they are also flavoursome and filling things.
You think you don't want to buy anything and then all of a sudden there's a sale on.

I was supposed to capture the my disdain for buying but ended up with curiosity. The week prior I had stated how happy I was to be saving money and being sensible.
Everybody is asking me what I'm doing after graduation. Everybody. I think everybody knows my obvious options. I come back with the same reply every time. Uncertainty annoys as much as future possibility.
Last Tuesday I was at Peter's house to sing along to the Cat Stevens Majikat DVD. It's difficult to believe such an event hasn't occurred before.

Today I enjoyed a impromptu fun day with Nuala. It has been a long time since I've last gone to the movies. The seats are so uncomfortable. While wriggling around in the seat I was watching Rise of The Silver Surfer. We had decided to watch it since it was about to begin when we arrived at the cinema. Coincidentally, last week I watched the first Fantastic Four movie. After having viewed both movies I think they are fun but the writing is terrible. When the name Mark Frost appeared on screen as a screenplay writer I thought we may be in luck. This was false hope. These movies have led me to believe that Mark Frost may have been the reason behind every dull side story of Twin Peaks. Sue Storm (Jessica Alba) wore too much eye makeup in the second movie. When in doubt people should always remember the following quote:
After the movie we enjoyed some lunch at The Queens. No, 'enjoy' might be the wrong word. It was enjoyable to remove the feeling of hunger but the Chicken Burger was not worth the exorbitant $18.60 price. I'll not order one again. Afterwards I talked my way into having us quickly go to the Globe for a coffee. Score.
On my way back home I decided to boisterously sing along to Sinéad O'Connor. I realise some people may be able to hear me outside of the vehicle but I don't care much about that anymore.
Boy In Police Station: You wear too much eye makeup. My sister wears too much. People think she's a whore.

Friday was an event. Of course when I say event I mean watching Hot Fuzz at the cinema with a preceding meal at the Morley Ale House.
I ate some Avocado Bruschetta and it was rather lovely. The tomato had been in some sort of vinegar. Mouth watering stuff. I wasn't too hungry and as a result did not finish my 3 pieces. There was a singer to entertain the patrons and he really fell into a Māori cultural stereotype. He was singing while watching the rugby at the same time.
Hot Fuzz was absolutely brilliant but we all knew I'd say that. The only empty feeling I have comes from the lack of Jessica Stevenson and Peter Serafinowicz. It didn't feel complete with those two missing. There were some magical lines that made us all burst out into laughter.
I can't believe two people got up and left the theatre. It obviously wasn't their cup of tea but looking at them I doubt they'd ever drunk tea in their entire life.
Since I've been devoting most hours of everyday to studying, I decided to take a break yesterday and do nothing. This break has dribbled into today and I for one welcome the nothingness. I can feel the heavy burden of things that need to be done. They can wait. Of course I do realise that I will be kicking myself later for this choice.
I watched the seven minute HD preview of Spiderman 3. meh. Nothing spectacular.
I also watched Casino Royale (2006) and The Last King of Scotland.
Casino Royale is actually better than I thought it would be. There are a few holes that need filler scenes but even so it was much better than most of the candy bond the era of Brosnan gave us.
The Last King of Scotland was great. Highly enjoyable and shocking too. I'm sure it would be a better book. One day I will find out.
hahahaha :)

I love this

What came first, the music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss. Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?

Contemplating
20060402 | Sunday | 2007
I was having a drink at the café tonight, sitting at the end of the risen platform outside. I often sit there and stare blankly at the ever busy Beaufort St. As more and more people walked past I started to wonder how many of them had a livejournal? (should that be a question mark or a full stop? hmm)
It's rare to find people who haven't heard of livejournal these days but it's starting to be common place to hear people admit they have one.
Although I have my share of friends only posts, I don't understand why some people need completely friends only journals. Especially those who'll befriend anybody who shows any interest in them anyway. I guess it's part security and part embarrassment. I use friends posts to keep some names away from the general public but some days I really don't care and fail to change my security settings. As for personal security I think my walls have come almost completely down. Hell, I have my phone number available via my userinfo for a filtered group of friends. If I had a P.O. box I'd chuck that up there too.
Damn - I started rambling there and now I can't remember my point.
oh well - maybe I'll remember tomorrow.

Oh, you've got green eyes
Oh, you've got blue eyes
Oh, you've got grey eyes
And I've never seen anyone quite like you before
No, I've never met anyone quite like you before

Hyun-ism

I just had to share the following piece of wisdom. I'm quoting something that Hyun (lecturer) said towards the end of class today.
"I still have problems with technology. Cloning isn't too bad because at least I can sort of understand how it works. The fax machine though... that is a big mistake. Picture goes in, picture comes out! It's a mystery."
haha! How fantastic is that quote?
Sometimes that man says the funniest things :)

Residents of a small Croatian town called police after waking up to find a 17-foot snowsculpture of a penis in the main square.
But police in the town of Karlovac who responded to the call saw the funny side and decided to let the ice willy melt naturally.
Student Nenad Rizvic, 21, who admitted to building the 'statue' with a group of friends, said: "We just wanted to make a slightly different kind of snowman."

"Guess what? I've got a fever and the only perscription is more cowbell"
I just bought Saturday Night Live: The Best of Christopher Walken on DVD! Now I have my own copy of the cowbell skit and The Continental (would you like some chapang-na?). If you haven't seen them you are really missing out.
Along with that marvelous DVD I also bought a Depeche Mode Box Set which includes The Exciter Tour 2001 and the deluxe version of Videos 86>98+. That's 4 discs of Depeche mode!
