belly belly

Ever since a package came in the mail on Wednesday I've been wondering what some people think about me.

At the begining of the month my brother sent me an e-mail and in the second paragraph he wrote:
"A very nice coincidence has occurred that I now know what to buy you for your birthday."
I couldn't work out the coincidence from the context and enjoyed the mystery.

So the other day my ears perked when I heard a delivery van outside. Whenever I am home and there is a delivery I wonder if it will be for me. It's always that way, even when I've ordered something for myself and have been following the order online.

The package was from Amazon and had two books within. God Is A Woman and The Complete Arseholes Guide To Picking Up Chicks. My immediate thought was that my dear brother thinks I've been single for way too long. Even if this isn't true you cannot blame me for the immediate reaction. I've avoided the guide due the its title but happily read half of God Is A Woman. It's OK. I'll never ever take a book like this seriously though. It's just the opposite of who I am. It's fun to read these things but they aren't going to change me or my somewhat nonchalant way.

Firday I went to dinner at New Orleans. I had some Cajun Lentil soup followed by Chicken Andouille Jambalaya. It was very good but they served me enough to feed two people. It was a struggle. My belly was so very full after half of the main dish.

Afterwards we strolled down the road to have some fun singing at Hit Studio Karaoke Box. There were a lot of new song choices and we used up two and a half hours very quickly. I sang most of the usual stuff - as usual. It feels like a long time since I last went.

Tonight I'm going to Chatters for dinner with Nuala. This will be the last time I spend a lot of money on food for hopefully quite some time. My bank balance has been falling drastically in the past few months because of my ridiculous spending, especially on food.

Tuesday night I went to il Padrino for pizza with Kim and Yenners. Got so full. We ordered Tagliatelle (Pasta), Vegetarian Pizza, and Prosciutto/Funghi Pizza. Then we went and had Bubble Tea from Utopia. I had the Green Tea & Honey with Sago. There were pictures taken - I'll post them when I get them. [Bam!]

The reason for going out was to catch up and say good bye to Kim who is buggering off to Korea and then Malaysia until February.

Later Tiffany and her sister Nikki (I hope that was her name, damn fuzzy memory) joined Kim and myself at Utopia. Tiff regaled us with stories of her new job while we occasionally stopped to listen to the engineering students screaming upstairs in one of the karaoke booths. Before we knew it the owners were turning off the TV's in an effort to get us out of there. It was midnight and we were just sitting around watching the music videos.

It's kind of sad that Tiff, Kim, and Yen have all finished uni now. I only just got to know them.

On the way home I drove around with the window down. The air seemed really fresh.

Christmas is on the way in full force. I keep telling myself I don't need a Wii. Will I crumble?

Lately I've been re-doing all the sudoku games in Brain Age. I am the most exciting person in the world at the moment.

Next post - a quick guide to remedy a simple error in English on the internet.

last night... and all that jazz.

I was invited for drinks to celebrate Sehee's birthday with a few of her friends. We met at the casino, had a drink, and watched Charles gamble. A merry time was had by all. There was some commotion about me drinking an Irish drink which was odd. With some freaky coincidence I met Monica again - I'd met her once before at another persons birthday about a year and a half ago. Perth is small, yes? We both kind of looked at each other a little stunned that we knew the same people.

We went to karaoke afterwards. I sang Anarchy in the U.K. as I always do. Though this wasn't my regular karaoke group so they probably thought I was a nutter. We were there until 02:40 and the last people in the establishment. It's funny to think the poor people running the place were waiting for us to finish so they could go home. This place we went to had so many good 80's hits. I must venture there again with the regular group.

I want to say more but most of the night was just spent trying to hear what the hell everyone was saying at the casino. It was too loud. My head hurts.

Now I'm going to sit back on the couch and watch Sophie Scholl - Die letzten Tage.

    Hit Studio

    music: Bic Runga - Sway

Karaoke was fun last night. I've got a major headache which I want to blame on Natalie's whistling and the singing yelling between myself and Jamie. I feel sorry for anyone outside the room who heard us screaming the lyrics of Anarchy in the UK. :)

We were there for 3 hours and I sang along to 3/4 of what came on even if I didn't pick the song. I remember singing - Goldfinger, Anarchy in the UK, Lola, Somebody to Love, and Under Pressure. The rest have all kind of meshed together as one big song.

It was fun to have Yoriko there singing Japanese songs. Nobody could keep up with the lyrics (even romanised ones) to sing with her, so we'd all join in whenever an English word appeared on screen. Though even if I could follow the lyrics I don't think I'd want to sing a Backstreet Boys song sung by 4 Japanese women in hot pink plastic skirts.

Hopefully later in the week I'll have some of the photo's from Marie's camera.

    On a related note:
Do these karaoke studios make big money? It doesn't seem to be a big operation to keep it running but the rooms cost $48/hour ($58/hour with less than 6 people). I want to know how much of a profit they make form that.
