» Made a banana smoothie but it was too sweet.
» Received my first mix-cd from Jenny. [1]
» Received a text from Yen just before she flew away.
» Bought some new trousers.
» Walked around the Bell Tower and the river.
» Met Dion and his friend Paul for lunch at Bells Cafe.
» Ate an Egg & Bacon Burger that was absolutely delicious.
» Bought a few DVD's courtesy of Peter & Tracy's Christmas gift card.
» Took Dion to the airport at five o'clock in the morning and said farewell for the year.
» Was amazed at the number of people on the road that early and how many of them were speeding up to 20km/h over the limit.

feed me more

music: Lemon Jelly

Sunday night I watched 2 Days in Paris at the cinema with Peter. It wasn't too bad but I expected a bit more from Julie Delpy.

On Christmas morning I watched two Charlie Brown Christmas specials.
During the day and night I ate a lot of trifle. I want more trifle. I love trifle.
I'm eating left over potato and egg salad at the moment.
Why do we only eat this stuff at holiday time?

My brother Dion flew in this morning. He will be here for two weeks before heading back to London. He has made fun of my beard twice so far. I expected more.

I want to waste some money in the post-christmas sales but cannot think of anything I really need or want.

Apparently it was 43ยบ today. Stupid summer and its heat making me sweat.

belly belly

music: Decoder Ring

Ever since a package came in the mail on Wednesday I've been wondering what some people think about me.

At the begining of the month my brother sent me an e-mail and in the second paragraph he wrote:
"A very nice coincidence has occurred that I now know what to buy you for your birthday."
I couldn't work out the coincidence from the context and enjoyed the mystery.

So the other day my ears perked when I heard a delivery van outside. Whenever I am home and there is a delivery I wonder if it will be for me. It's always that way, even when I've ordered something for myself and have been following the order online.

The package was from Amazon and had two books within. God Is A Woman and The Complete Arseholes Guide To Picking Up Chicks. My immediate thought was that my dear brother thinks I've been single for way too long. Even if this isn't true you cannot blame me for the immediate reaction. I've avoided the guide due the its title but happily read half of God Is A Woman. It's OK. I'll never ever take a book like this seriously though. It's just the opposite of who I am. It's fun to read these things but they aren't going to change me or my somewhat nonchalant way.

Firday I went to dinner at New Orleans. I had some Cajun Lentil soup followed by Chicken Andouille Jambalaya. It was very good but they served me enough to feed two people. It was a struggle. My belly was so very full after half of the main dish.

Afterwards we strolled down the road to have some fun singing at Hit Studio Karaoke Box. There were a lot of new song choices and we used up two and a half hours very quickly. I sang most of the usual stuff - as usual. It feels like a long time since I last went.

Tonight I'm going to Chatters for dinner with Nuala. This will be the last time I spend a lot of money on food for hopefully quite some time. My bank balance has been falling drastically in the past few months because of my ridiculous spending, especially on food.

That, this, and the other.

On Tuesday I took my brother to the airport as it was time for him to return to England. I ended up just quickly dropping him off there. It was originally my intention to go into the airport and get one of those tiny pizza's from the eatery. Maybe I'll be able to get one on Sunday if I go to pick up my cousin who is visiting for a year from Scotland.

On Tuesday night I went to the cinema to see Nightmare Before Christmas in 3-D. It's the same movie but you have to wear these plastic toy glasses. The regular version is easier to watch. Most of the fast movement in 3-D wasn't as smooth as you'd imagine. Maybe it's just a side affect of porting an old film into Disney Digital 3-D. Oh and I didn't get a student discount. It was seventeen freaking dollars!

Today I enrolled in my units for next year. Nothing too exciting about that. I did run into a few people and organised a future meet up.

Earlier in the week I bought Gattaca, Match Point, Closer, and Sin City [Recut & Extended]. I need to start thinking of presents for people!

A text update is needed

music: Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Pt.1

My mind has been awash with iMac's, PDA's, coffee makers, as well as more practical things such as shoes, pants, and shirts. I've pretty much decided to buy a 17" iMac with my educational discount but I'm not going to buy it until Apple gives me some free booty. They often have free iPod promo's (the last one was in July) but there isn't one going at the moment.

I decided to see Clerks 2. It's mostly like the first one except with an overabundance of sexual humour. I highly enjoyed the dance sequence. The story sort of fizzled off towards the end. I hate how Kevin Smith makes Silent Bob emote, it's like watching a dog trying to get attention.

This coming week I have to remember to renew my driver's license. It's due by the 11th and I keep forgetting that it's sort of important to have since I drive every single day. :-/

Today is my brothers 34th birthday. I think he's in Romania and I have no idea how to contact him. I'm going to go with an e-mail and hope he checks his account.

The regular life of Blake

20060405 | Wednesday | 1834

  • Monday
Uneventful. Almost went arse-over-tit on a chair as I was falling asleep in Asian Business Cultures 282. Nobody noticed - Crisis averted.

  • Tuesday
Long tiring day with a World Englishes chaser. I (everybody) hate(s) that class. When I got home I found a simple e-mail from Chris in my inbox. She's cool. You're cool! ;)
Went to bed at 20:30 and listened to The Beatles until I fell asleep.

  • Wednesday
Usually my short day but now a long study day. Met Sehee and practised Korean. Learnt some new vocab and got some common problems sorted. It's a great additional bit of education and totally different form what is taught in a class room.
Got an e-mail from my brother and laughed at the following line: "...if Kev and I ever do build a house/hotel/bungalow resort in Vietnam you will always have a room there with your name on it". :)
haha - Yay for new unrealistic fantasies.

The Choices - Shirts of Art

    20060208 | Wednesday | 1121
music: The Beatles - A Day in the Life

My brother is in Vietnam. Last time he was there he bought me a print of this lovely painting. Now he's informed me the gallery it's from has a website and wants to know what shirts (if any) I want. It's a difficult choice. I'm quite partial to C11, C17/18, and C21 from this page.

    Any thoughts?
Maybe I should just ask for all of them :P

    the international sms

    20050707 | Thursday | 1806

Got an sms from my brother not long ago saying, "At work, ok". I thought he sent it to the wrong person. Then the news comes on... Explosions in London.... oh now I know what he's talking about. He's going to have fun getting home today with the Tube being closed and most buses stopped. Plus he lives right near the bus boom area.
