Hi. Can someone please help me out. I'm looking for a translation of the Lord's Prayer into Ladino. I can't, for the life of me, find it on the internet and I don't have access to a library right now. Either in Latin script or the Ladino Script would be great.

I can't believe my time here has been going by so fast, I have a month before I leave! Anyways, I was wondering if there are any restaurants or bakeries that you would recommend going to that is reasonably priced (probably no more than $25 a meal and pastries that aren't over $5). I don't eat out very often and I definitely want to make the best of my last month here. I also happen to like 24 hour diner joints, so if you have any ideas about where I should go please suggest. :)

My other thing of concern is looking for an good, affordable way to get my stuff back to the U.S. With the change in airline baggage policies, I'm trying to look for better alternatives to getting my stuff back. If worst happens, I will probably sell some of my stuff and I would really like to get rid of some of it. If you have any ideas as to how I can sell a set of cooking stuff quick and easy, that would be good to know too.

I teach English as a second language at a German grammar school. At the moment I have to mark texts some students wrote. I don't teach these students myself. Their teacher has been correcting the texts before she gave them to me so that I could add my corrections.

I'm not sure I'm making myself very clear here.

Anyway, it's difficult to correct only the kids and not my colleague, but there's one problem which comes up again and again:

Can you use the word hype as a short form of hyperbole?

It's very clear that the kids want to say 'hyperbole', but that someone has taught them to use 'hype' instead. I know the word 'hype' and I know that originally it was a short form of 'hyperbole', but I think that by now it means something else and you can't say, 'The author uses hype to illustrate his point.'

What do you think?

Right. I need some help here, and it comes in two related parts.

Firstly, ( lots of background )

So my first question is this, for any Indic-language buffs around here: given Caligardamana as a corruption of Kolikata/Kalikata + some other element, what do you make of the 'other element'? My best guess was based on looking though Monier Monier-Williams' Sanskrit dictionary, i.e. मान in the sense of 'building, house, dwelling'. However, this doesn't seem to be the most common sense for maana, which mostly means 'measure'; I'm not utterly convinced whether Sanskrit is the best thing to compare it to; and I'm out of ideas. Any suggestions?

The second, related question, is this: in trying to chase up possible meanings for maan(a) myself, I came across this mess of bad Germanic and Indic philology and wild speculation, which is altogether wronger than a very wrong thing. ( There are so many things about it that need correcting that it's hard to know where to start... )

The first few paragraphs of the article are so bad that they almost look as if someone were trying to lay the theoretical underpinnings for a Kshatriya Division of the Waffen SS. I really would like to do the electronic equivalent of writing "BOLLOCKS" across this in large red letters. After all, we can't just acquiesce in people being wrong on the internet — especially not about etymology. So: any suggestions as to what might be a more constructive response? It honestly has been a loooooooooooong while since i've actually updated something worth remembering.. let's just say i procastinated a lil too much, and also, got a lil lazy and occupied.. lawl. XD

Yesterday was a wonderful, calm and memorable day. Nothing to most of you, but something really meaningful for me.. =) I honestly had my fun and enjoyed it to the fullest.. well.. even though it was just the 3 of us. Kakakaka.. :p

I woke up around 10am.. meh..i think it may have been earlier though.. o.o;; not so sure.. D:

Cuz i slept like around 10pm the night before.. yea.. freaking early.. was kinda exhausted and stuff.. so yep~ Bedz for moi~ XD

So anyhow.. i watched my boo play wow.. (as usual.. this guy is uber hooked on that game.. GAWD!! D: .. he has nothing better to do.. lolz! XD)

So right.. now to begin.. where was i? Ahahahah.. ok ok.. i will start now o.o;

We were just lazing around, my bro bugged me non-stop as usual.. bleh.. how annoying can that be? To have an older brother ALWAYS constantly bugging you.. and never leaving you alone.. and teasing you and blabbing and yapping.. GAH! The list goes on! D:

Did i mention about 2 weeks ago, i drew on my boo's pillow? XD I'll post the pictures up later on i guess.. hahahahaha.. it's actually.. too.. cute.. O_O! Even i was surprised myself.. lolz.. didn't expect to draw something THAT cute and not make a mistake.. @__@;; So yay to a wonderful success? Lawl.

So meh.. we lazed and chilled and then around 3pm or so we decided to take a shower.. and as usual, the boys take ages to move their ass.. -____________-;;

Before, we were watching YouTube videos.. Youbbie whoring. Lol. My boo showed me some interesting WOW videos.. o.o;; and also Counter Strike LEGO style! LOL! That was amazingly hilarious! HAHAHAH! XDXDDD And then he showed me another video about a man who can mimic ovwe 80 voices in 5 minutes.. o___________________________________O! And i was baffled. Speechless as well.. cuz i never knew someone could even have THAT ability to do such a thing.. in such an amount of time.. @_@;

There was more.. i think.. oh and he showed me some awesome videos on futuristic stuff.. o.o And so.. he went for a shower, but before that i was a little busy loading some cool videos of this mega pwn@ge and awesome comedian, Pablo Fransisco..! XD He is so good! My classmate Shah played the freaking DVD in class 2 years back, and i forgot all about Pablo till today, when my bro was talking about Russel Peters and well.. David Blaine.. lawl. My boo showed me videos of David Blaine's YouTube edition which he found the same time i did.. and what that was funny was that i sent him the link and he was like: " OMG! I wanted to show you these videos too! XD " hehe.. guess there's something in common with him and i.. we love sharing videos and games and well.. just about anything XD;; And at times we yap cuz one of us beat the other.. but till today.. it's been almost half a year, not one SINGLE ARGUEMENT!! TT w TT Oh the lord. I am blessed with a saint!! *will be smacked if her boo reads this.. XP*

So meh, we all went to shower and well, when we were done, had to wait for my bro to get done with the err.. shower.. - w - ahahaha.. as usual XD..

Anyhow.. i showed my boo the Pablo videos.. and good God, he laughed like a mad hooligan. OAO!!

Well.. he laughed just as much when i showed "someone" 2 years ago but i never though it'd be the same.. lolz..! XD And it was just so sooooooooooooooo CUTE and adorable *_* I'm like: " Omg.. i wanna just squeeze him when he laughs so cutely like that!!! ♥ ♥ " XD Ahaha.. but i didn't.. he was just laughing too much till his tummy hurt.. xD I just decided to give him a break.. lewl. :3

So anyhow.. around 5.45pm.. we left .. and took a short walk accross our apartment and then grabbed a cab.. we had to go to my boo's working place for a while, cuz he had to collect his pay.. lol.. we went there and well, while he was busy talking to his boss, my bro and i went exploring my boo's work place.. which was funny xD We even looked at the kids play some games at the computers.. called " Chicken Invaders " ......... the game was kinda.. well.. interesting yet disturbing.. o.O;; I mean.. you are flying some fighter plane.. and infront of you, there are TONS of flying chicken.. and well, you shoot them.. when they attack you, the shoot our freaking EGGS.. and when you hit them, they turn into fried chicken wings... o_O;; LOL.. games these days are so.. weird.. @@;;

Hahah.. after that, we were done, and while going downstairs.. i told my boo about the game and he went: " COOOL!!! " ............ -______-!! Guys.. geez. DX

So yeah, we got onto a cab, paid 30$ and went to Mid Valley Megamall.. xD..

Bro wanted to go there for a freaking haircut.. so we just tagged along.. and well, the moment we arrived there, my boo started taking "piccies" as usual.. in his "tourist" mode.. lolz! XD And also.. after that, well.. we went to the hair salon and well.. "left" my bro there and went walking around~ :3

It was a very simple day.. but i honestly just wont forget it. =)♥

Anyways.. we went to get a drink.. shared a cold Lime juice.. mmmm.. it was just so tasty .. sweet and sour.. and a little tinge of soda in it i think cuz we could taste the err.. fizzy-ness.. o__o;; but anyhow.. we drank it and then after we were done, i saw this cool Fung Shui shop and asked if he wanted to go in.. hehe and well we did~ X3

So yeah.. he was so curious about all the things in that shop, and i explained as much as i knew.. and then we went to the crystals section.. *_* Heh.. all the memories of my past.. *sigh* ...... i told him about the necklaces i gave.. and the bracelettes and what they all meant etc.. hehe and i really wanna get one specially for him.. something special.. heh.. i love him so much.. ^^ The good old days.. :3 Hohoo.. interesting huh? How history can repeat itself? He's everything to me.. everything i need.. and all i want. ♥

Well.. nobody can take him from me.. i swear if that ever happens again.. well.. i will attack back. No more nice Sakura... :D

So yea.. after that, we walked around a while.. and we went to the oval and looked down and meh.. he kept bugging me.. and asking me how much the stuff was down there.. and he wanted to pay for it JUST to see me all.. "dolled-up" .. you know how.. odd i felt? D: Never ever.. and i mean EVER experienced that in my life. Lolz.. can say i was just a little lost for words then.. o_O;; cuz well.. when this was the situation and case when i was a teenager.. err.. my past would not allow me to do any of that.. nor would he cough up the $$$ to even help me.. with ANYTHING.. -_____-;; and i have to ASK.. he'd never offered BEFORE.. EVER.. but.. this time.. God.. he is so different. *____________________*;; ahahahahaha... so meh.. i am just gonns stick to err... one person.. and just be a leech. 8D

So yaaarrr.. after that.. we went to the pet shop.. lol.. there was a silky terrier there.. and a pug, and a hound.. and a chi hua hua.. and a black labrador and many more puppies..! Even a Shih Tzu.. omg.. so freaking cute and fluffy! XD We hung around there and well.. just played with them for a while .. while waiting for Mr. Iori to actually be done with his stuff and meh.. so yea. About an hour or so.. Iori came.. lol i was SO NOT used to his hair cut one big.. D:

SHORTTTT!! @____@!! Meh.. he had always had LONG hair.. and not its short.. and just had the front long.. his fringe.. so.. i was like: " OAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! " ... lolz. But he still looked good but more err.. feminine? O.o!! Meh...

So yea.. we looked at all the pet.. and lawl.. next thing i know there were freaking FERRETS there >_>;; i dont know what else to say but lol.. my boo and bro asked me to get in that cage with them.. lawl.. i laughed like Dog. O.o;; And then meh..... my bro just chilled and played with the parrots.. and he was just putting his finger i a position in which the parrot when it "bites" it wouldnt hurt and he went: " It wont hurt if it bit this way with it's beak... OUCH! " LOL! XD it bit him.. lawl! it was so DAMNED CUTE!! ♥ hahahah..

So yeah.. i think i've told the whole day.. but anyhow.. we went down, didn't know what to do and in the end settled for a movie!! WHOOOOT!! We wated to watch Ironman.. but tickets were well.. okay but the seats weren't .. so went tried for uhh.. The Three Kingdoms.. still not good seats.. and then we tried Chronicles Of Narnia - Prince Caspian.. and wh000tz! GOOD SEATS!!

So yep.... and that reminds me.. while we were lining up.. i was really being bugged by those two like MAD! @__o;; Non-stop.. rofl. And even to one part, my bro took the plastic bag that he got from buying this cool new gray goodie from Tropicana Life.. and he put the bag over my head~ D: GEEEEEEEEEZ!! That dork. xD .. meh.. so yaaaa... that settles that part.. i fwapped him and made him pay for my ticket when he did that lolz :p And so yay for free ticket.. = w =;;

And meh.. finally, we got our tickets, and well we didn't know where to eat.. something fast and filling.. o_o;; We kinda thought of Carl's Jr. but in the end decided for McDonalds instead.. and well.. meh.. heheh.. and thanks loads to my boo for treating me to a Quarter Pounder... :3 I feel thankful.. and well, learnt alot from being the way i am.. for the past ONE YEAR.. x__________________x;; So heh.. i am glad he accepts me for me now and just loves me.. no matter what and i can believe that he will ;3 I trust him.. with me heart.. and honestly.. life.. to that extent. So meh.. bla bla bla..

We 3 ate.. didn't talk much cuz we only had like 15 minutes to eat and then went to the movies.. XD

The movie was G-R-E-A-T!! Seriously.. it was! SPLENDID! I strongly encourage you to watch it.. XD And have fun nyao! *_*

And another thing is that.. it has been SOOO LONG since i've watched a movie with someone i love.. so.. yep.. very much happy with this X3

So meh... its the following day.. and about almost 4.30pm here.. i need to get ready to go home.. mummy misses me.. so mweh~

Well yea that was just ONE DAY.. in my life with this much fun kakakakakakkaaa... so i am happy just as it is.

I tried out Wii Fit a few days ago. It certainly grabbed my interest. I would love to go out and buy it myself but I don't think I should. It doesn't make much sense since I'll probably only get to use it for three months.

The Wii board on carpet seems to not weigh you correctly - It picks me up about 5kg lighter than I actually am. Even with the slightly inaccurate reading it still kindly decided with all of its wisdom to put me in the 'Ideal' B.M.I. area and it also gave me a fitness age of 26. I haven't tried many of the training exercises but the hula-hoop and skiing games are good fun. The jogging wrecks me.
