Nothing re-watched.
Only what is new to me.

current count: 35

January
No Country For Old Men

Not too bad. I had fun listening for remnant Scottish sounds in Kelly Macdonald's voice.

6/10

Cloverfield

I hope Lily made it out ok, she was good lookin'. Maybe somebody should give her a call from their Nokia mobile phone.

2/10

Juno

Fun times with teen pregnancy.

6/10

I am Legend

40 minutes of promise and 1 hour of rubbish.

3/10

The Hottest State

I like the romance. It's a shame the horrible lead character sucks all the charm from this movie.

5/10

Sweeney Todd

They shortened my favourite song and it was still better than I expected. More Pies!

7/10

February
Magicians

Mediocre comedy and thus perfect for re-watching in the event of unwavering boredom.

5/10

The Beach

I didn't mind the direction it took. I did mind the way it got there. Not bad though.

6/10

Stranger Than Fiction

Good concept. Terrible story. Dustin Hoffman's character is the most fictional.

3/10

Terminator 3

Even if I made a bad movie I would never put ugly slow-motion shots in the final cut.

3/10

The Baxter

I enjoyed this and not just because the title is my surname.

5/10

Justice League:
The New Fontier

I don't think Superman can have a conversation without saying, "America". It's a fun little cartoon though.

3/10

Day of The Dead (2008)

This new trend of fast moving, gun toting, memory using undead is not my cup of tea.

1/10

Superman:
Doomsday

I enjoyed a Superman movie. Look out the window, the world is ending.

5/10

Across The Universe

A dozen music video's of lacerated Beatles songs wrapped around a regurgitated paper thin story is not a movie.

1/10

The Nines

Quasi-quirky. It's not the most well written movie, and it tries a bit too hard, but at least it didn't fall over into a big pile of shit.

5/10

March
Watching The Detectives

I would give up television for her.
The movie is silly and reminds me of the sort of crap I used to love watching 10 years ago.

6/10

Run Fatboy Run

This movie had so much going for it... what a shame it wasn't very good. Who the fuck put that soundtrack together? If you know the person, kick them once for me.

5/10

Maria Full of Grace

This was enjoyable to watch but there's nothing too special about the movie. It is what it is. I doubt I'll ever watch it again.

5/10

Death at a Funeral

That was a good laugh. I love how much they get out of something so simple.

6/10

The Man Who Copied

Although the narrative became slightly irritating very early on, I liked the way the movie progressed. It's not a bad story.

6/10

My Blueberry Nights

I'm a sucker for these loner/romantic movies and I should have liked this but it was completely ruined with the attempt to make it look like art. I have never seen so many slow motion scenes before in one movie, it was ridiculous.

4/10

Waking Life

At the beginning it was difficult to focus between the handheld camera, the erratic animation, and the free floating layers. Eventually everything seemed to fit and the movie was enjoyable. It was also fun to see Celine and Jesse again.

6/10

Night Watch

The stories didn't work well together and I found it difficult to follow even though it is a simple movie. That and I never quite recognised the main character in any scene until somebody said his name.

3/10

Quiet City

This is like a student version of Before Sunrise, except they forgot to write a script before they started filming. Making a movie about regular life is fine but you still have to script it. There is a large leap of faith with the situation too. I doubt any girl would trust a stranger that quickly.

4/10

Dedication

At the beginning, any scene without Lucy is almost agonising. Then the rest of the movie is like having a head cold that prevents you from hearing properly.

2/10

Be Kind Rewind

Classic case of a great concept with a poor script. I'm still aching for more closure.
The trailer for this movie contains 75% of the best moments.

4/10

April
Vantage Point

In 10 years this will make a great midday movie.

5/10

Last Life In The Universe

Surprisingly cute in its subtlety, especially when giving you character information. I didn't like the bumbling comedic efforts of the characters introduced at the end but up until then everything was wonderful. The movie title appearing at the half hour mark was a little bewildering.

7/10

Lars and The Real Girl

I just was not into this movie at all. It felt rather dull and lifeless (I'm not trying to be funny either).

4/10

Black Sheep

New Zealand really embraced the sheep culture with this one. It was funny for all right reasons, seeing zombie sheep lunge at people never got old.

4/10

Jeux d'enfants

A weird story that never quite takes the expected direction. There's nothing great about this but there's not too much to complain about either. It's very well shot.

6/10

Diary of the Dead

Kind of boring. Not enough zombie hordes. The zombie genre is getting stale, somebody needs to come along and write a fresh new storyline.

3/10

May
Iron Man

A very good hero movie. There are a few cheesy shots including some cheap and unnecessary zooming that really does not belong. Good casting though.

6/10

Flakes

Cute for five minutes.

You gave Black Sheet the same rating as Be Kind Rewind!!! I'm shocked and horrified. While I think that Black Sheep was a 'view only once' sort of movie, I certainly enjoyed it a lot more that Rewind.

...you are a crazy man indeed....
